Revised Schedule – 2011-2015 MAG TIP Extensive policy discussions have been held this year as MAG and RPTA focus on the freeway and transit life cycle programs in light of the economic recession and declining sales tax revenues. Due to these unique circumstances, MAG has reviewed and revised the schedule for the development of the next five-year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) Update. MAG will begin development of the 2011 – 2015 TIP and the RTP 2010 Update in place of the 2010-2014 TIP. Applications for Federal Funds Applications for PM-10 Certified Street Sweepers, PM-10 Pave Unpaved Roads, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), Bicycle, and Pedestrian projects were due Friday September 18, 2009 at 12:00 p.m./noon. Transportation Programming Guidebook The purpose of the Guidebook is to provide MAG member agencies background information, instructions, requirements, schedules, applications forms, and contact information for different transportation programs and requirements for the RTP and MAG TIP for FY 2009. This guidebook explains the available transportation funds, funding allocations, and projections as they relate to programming transportation projects. DRAFT MAG Federal Fund Programming Principles The purpose of the Principles is to establish a transparent set of programming principles for the competitive project selection process for MAG federal funds, clarify the application and programming process, ensure consistency with the SAFETEA-LU and CMAQ Federal Regulations, comply with the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) policy directives, and encourage project completion. It is the intent to use and test the Draft Principles in fiscal year (FY) 2009 for the competitive project selection process, project change requests, and the Federal Fiscal Year 2009 Closeout Process. MAG Federally Funded TIP Projects MAG created a website dedicated to provide members of the public and local government staff with information on the status of federally funded projects currently proceeding through the Arizona Department of Transportation design review and clearance process.
