Additional MAG WAN Proposer's Conference Questions and Answers

1) Question:
The $225,000 figure. How was this number derived? Based on the number
and complexity of the tasks identified, the budget seemed low. Are we
thinking the tasks are not as complex as the seem?

Response: $225,000 is the amount of money we have available to undertake the study. We expect all the tasks listed in the RFP to be done for that amount of money. If you believe additional work should be done, please prepare a supplement and identify how much the additional work would cost above and beyond the $225,000. If more money were to become available, and there is no guarantee at this time that that is the case, we could look at additional work.

2) Question:
Would it be possible (assuming the contract is awarded) to bring in
people not part of our plan development team to review the proposed network
plan prior to submission?

Response: The matter is negotiable.

3. Question:
As part of the 25 page response, you are requesting a preliminary schedule
in bar-chart format that includes all the work plan tasks and durations.
How detailed do you want this schedule?

Response: We would expect the bar-chart to be no more than two pages. Once the contract is awarded and the project begins more details can be provided.

4. Question:
Does the 25-page limit include the proposal cover? If we include tabbed section dividers, will they count toward the 25-page limit?

Response: The 25 page limit does not include the proposal cover. It also does not include the tabbed section dividers, provided that the dividers do not have text written on them other than the name or title of the section.

5. Question:
The MAG Regional Community WAN Study has a specific DBE requirement. Just want to make sure that having obtained the City of Phoenix voluminous Minority, Woman and Disadvantaged Business Directory that your understanding of DBE for the purposes of MAG and Federal regulations is inclusive of all three categories Phoenix covers: MBE (Minority), WBE (Woman) and DBE (Disadvantaged). The person I'm planning on using is a WBE.

Response: The fact that a firm is a WBE does not automatically mean it qualifies as DBE. To determine whether a particular firm meets the Phoenix DBE standards, you can call the City of Phoenix at 262-6790 and ask them.

6. Question:
How many responses were received? Are you planning on interviews?

Response: Seven proposals were received. If interviews are deemed necessary, a decision as to which proposers should be invited to the interview will be made by December 8, 2000. Firms recommended for an interview will be notified by December 8, 2000 end of the day.
