Building Codes Stakeholders Meeting

The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) is committed to establishing and maintaining the highest level of building code standards possible in this region. MAG believes that your input into the process used for developing building codes standards and enforcement of those standards is extremely valuable.

Therefore, the Maricopa Association of Governments cordially invites you to participate in a Valley Building Codes Stakeholders Meeting on December 15, 1998 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at our offices at 302 North 1st Avenue, 2nd Floor, in the Saguaro meeting room.

MAG is actively seeking stakeholder participation to ensure that an adequate opportunity is provided for input from the homebuilding community and local elected officials in establishing building code standards.

The agenda will include:

An overview of the role, objectives and accomplishments of the MAG Building Codes Committee.
A discussion of efforts to promote uniformity in the adoption of building codes.
A panel discussion on ways to improve the process. The panel will discuss current issues and future directions associated with the development and enforcement of building code standards.
Safety issues and expertise of building inspectors.
